What snack ideas to eat on your adventure

Are you looking for a really good tasting snack idea that is low carb and tasty?

Good luck with that one, right? That is the challenge isnt it? Dietersor a term I am quickly adoptinglife-style changers, are always looking for a great snack idea to tie them over to lunch or dinner.

I stumbled across this one when one day I wanted some chips and salsa. Now, multigrain chips and baked chips are great if you are on that type of change. But as a low carb dieter I couldnt eat enough to satisfy that craving. Walking around in my local Wal-Mart I found pork rinds or chicharrones. Basically, they are fried pork skins. I grabbed a bag and read the label. Zero carbohydrates. My mouth watered. I read more. Per a half ounce serving I faced 80 calories, 5 grams of fat and 8 grams of protein. Could this be the miracle chip for me? I looked at the different kinds. No plans for season 5 of 'Ruby': Style network

Despite weight-loss reality star Ruby Gettinger's Facebook pleas to fans, the Style network has no plans at the moment for a season 5 of Ruby.

A spokesperson for the Style network told Entertainment Weekly's EW.com today that "there are no plans to move forward with a season five.

Gettinger had been drumming up support for another season via her Facebook fan page, her Twitter page and her blog.

'Biggest Loser' trainer Bob Harper: How to lose the last 10 lbs with PBJ recipe

Whether they're following a low-carbohydrate diet, obeying a Paleo plan or relying on a vegan weight loss guide, dieters share a common problem: Losing those last 10 pounds. Peanut Butter and "Jelly" Oatmeal and Egg White Scramble Ingredients

  • 3/4 to 1 cup water, depending on your preferred oatmeal thickness
  • 1/2 tablespoon almond butter (My tip: If you can't find almond butter in your local store, you can order all natural, peanut-free, gluten-free Barney Butter Smooth Almond Butter online by clicking here.)
  • Dash of cinnamon
  • 1/2 cup rolled oats
  • 1/4 cup fresh blueberries
  • 5 egg whites, lightly beaten
  • olive oil spray
  • cracked black pepper

Directions: In a small pot, bring the water to a simmer. Add the almond butter and cinnamon and stir until smooth. Add the oatmeal and cook until done, about 5 minutes. A few years ago, I had the opportunity to visit China and spend some time in Beijing. One of my favorite morning activities was to go to a public park close to my hotel. Initially, I just went for walks on my own, but soon I was invited by a small group of local seniors to join in their Tai Chi exercise. Much is being talked about the new way of aging as the Baby Boomer generation approaches retirement. Unlike their parents and grandparents, todays retirees are not ready to spend their twilight years quietly. Those who have worked hard and played hard all their lives, we are told, will continue to do so and many actually try. But that doesnt mean we can defy the laws of nature forever. The fact that there are many more senior athletes who can run a marathon in their 70s and 80s doesnt make aging a thing of the past. The fact that modern medical technology can treat most ailments and control symptoms nearly indefinitely doesnt make us immune to disease. On the contrary, some studies have found that Boomers are aging worse than past generations in a number of respects.

Of course, staying physically active at any age is an important ingredient for good health. Exercising regularly can prevent many age- and lifestyle-related ills, including diabetes, heart disease, and also help reduce stress, anxiety and depression, according to the National Institute of Health (NIH).

Endurance and strength training continue to be important as the body ages, perhaps increasingly so. Stretching for flexibility and balance exercises to prevent falls should be added. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) recommend for older adults to spend at least 150 minutes on moderately intense aerobics and 60 minutes on resistance training per week.

Naturally, more time in the gym or on the bike path can yield higher benefits. But equally crucial is acting age-appropriately, knowing ones limitations, avoiding injuries, and accepting (grudgingly) that things are not the same as they used to be. There is no point in denying nature taking its course.

What I learned from my brief encounter with the Chinese Tai Chi practitioners was that there can be joy in doing less and achieving little such as finding pleasure in simply moving ones body with grace and gratitude. Realizing that didnt make me feel old, it made me feel rich.

In my 20 years of coaching individuals achieve personal and business success, I have had my fair share of clients achieve unbelievable results and sadly, my share of people that have had little to no progress. This article is about the similarities between the two groups.

Success (or failure) is predictable. You are a cumulative result of your habits.

Here is the typical response of the 3 types of people that I work with.

    Pain -> Action -> Discomfort -> Cessation -> Problem Returns
  2. The individual becomes comfortable. The individual experiences the same 4 points in the photo but the cessation of action stems from comfort, not discomfort.
    The individual experiences pain, takes action, gets enough of a result to experience a change and then ceases the action because they feel they have acted enough.
    This person eventually returns to their former actions and eventually returns back to the same challenges as before.
    Pain -> Action -> Comfort -> Cessation -> Problem Returns
  3. Perseverance. In this scenario the individual experiences the same pain, takes the same action and experiences the same changes. Except in this scenario, the individuals mindset is not on the short-term outcome but on lifelong change. This individual knows that they will need to consistently move through pain to get out of pain. They choose between the pain of change and the pain of staying the same.
    This individual COMMITS to continued action, to developing the skills and to acquiring the tools that will be necessary to deal with the new and ever-changing landscape that they will need to navigate.
    This person understands that their success will not be due to a lack of challenges, but rather, being better equipped to deal with them.
    Pain -> Action -> Discomfort -> Continued Action
