Celebrity wellness expert reveals how to restore your "body after baby"

Licensed and certified wellness coach and nutrition educator, NutriFit founding director Jackie Keller is an expert in the art of restoring your body after your pregnancy. She even authored a book on that topic: Body After Baby: A Simple, Healthy Plan to Lose Your Baby Weight Fast

5 Fall Fitness Tips!

As the weather takes a turn, so do many well intentioned exercisers. Many figure that redemption is only a few months away, so why not have at it in the meantime? The problem is that once January hits, goals are set out of desperation and are rarely practical. In fact, very few people stay true to their fitness goals after the first 2 weeks. So what can you do now to make sure that you don't become a January drop out? Following are some simple tips to stay on task and be way ahead of the game come January 1st.

1. Set a spring goal for yourself. Perhaps you want to run a 5K or improve your current 5K time. Ever wanted to do a Triathlon? How about a biking adventure? The best way to stay consistent with your fitness routine is to set a spring goal. The advantage is that you have to start now in order to make it happen 6 months from now. Keep a journal, document your training and keep a picture of what you want to achieve where you will see it throughout the day. Not only will you go through the holidays saying, "No" with ease, you'll feel accomplished while others are wondering why they didn't start when you did!

2. Stir things up. It's very common for people to stop their daily walks or bike rides once the weather takes a turn. Being one that doesn't love the cold weather, I understand completely why outside exercise loses it's appeal. However, don't let the weather derail your fitness efforts. Check out local classes in your area. Perhaps you've been wanting to try a Tai Chi class or Pilates class, now is the perfect time. Trying something new can not only break boredom, it's a fun way to keep you active.

3. 4. Stay hydrated. Just because it's no longer 90 degrees outside does not mean staying hydrated isn't important. During the winter weather, it's almost more important to stay hydrated as in-home and in-office heating is likely contribute to dehydration. Be sure to drink water throughout the day, and extra before and after your workouts. Staying hydrated is an important part of your winter fitness routine.

5. Social media can be a great motivator. Posting what you're doing can not only inspire others but connect you with like minded people. You can also find fitness groups on line that serve as a motivational resource. Purchasing something like a Nike Fuel band which posts your activity on Twitter and Facebook is a great way to build a cheering section for your activity.

As the seasons change, so do routines, it's natural. But there's no need to ditch your fitness regimen completely. Utilize some of the tips above and you'll find yourself coasting through the winter months with plenty of energy and most important, you wont' be dreading bathing suit season come spring!

Despite binge-eating battle, Khloe Kardashian slims down on her 'X Factor' diet (Photos)

Dieting isn't easy for anyone. And when you're Khloe Kardashian, constantly in the spotlight of public and media attention, it's even harder. Despite those factors and a tendency to "go back and binge eat and cry," Khloe has succeeded in slimming down for her appearance on "The X Factor," reported Life & Style magazine on Nov. 7.

Got nerves? Tips for calming those race-day jitters

The bad news? Pre-race anxiety is inevitable. The good news? Its a normal part of the process. Whether youre a seasoned veteran aiming for a new PR, or a rookie concerned about simply getting to the finish line, nerves are natural and can add an element of excitement to your race.

But when pre-race fears become more than just nervous energy, its important to nip it in the bud before your performance is affected and it starts to take all the fun out of racing. Regardless of whether its a string of bad races, a layoff due to injury, or merely a lack of confidence in your level of fitness, here are a few tips to help keep you on track come race day.

Prepare properly. You may not appreciate the importance of setting out your race-day gear the night before the event until you make a critical mistake...and then you never forget. A few years back, the gun went off at the Nike Womens Half Marathon in San Francisco when I realized that I had, in a cloud of nervous forgetfulness, left my timing chip back in the hotel room a mile or so away. Without any time to go back, I ended up running the race chip-less, finishing sans official time or record of my participation. Lesson learned; now I lay out everything the night before and do a double-check before bedtime.

Practice visualization. Walk through every aspect of the race in your minds eye, from warming up at the starting line to navigating the course and crossing the finish line triumphantly. Expect a certain amount of discomfort or pain if youre pushing your limits, but know that youve mentally rehearsed it and can handle anything that comes your way. When all else fails, imagine your worst-case scenario, and how youd cope with it. Chances are the reality wont be half as bad as what you can dream up.

Eat carefully. Race-day nerves can wreak havoc on your digestive system, so tread carefully when it comes to what you ingest in the hours before your event. Skipping a meal is not an option (especially for longer endurance events), so look for foods that are easy to digest and have a mix of nutrients, such as bananas, sports bars, oatmeal or even bagels and toast with peanut butter. If youre wary of how something will set, do a trial run during training to work out the kinks in a more controlled environment.

Line up correctly. Theres nothing more unnerving than realizing that youre in the wrong place at the wrong time on race morning. Avoid angering the elites or getting stuck behind slower runners by lining up according to your closest predicted finishing time. This way you can start with people who are at a similar pace, which will help you relax and focus on your own performance.

Run your own race. Id argue that only a small part of the race is physical; the rest is mental. Fight the urge to compare yourself to those around you. Unless youre a top-ranked elite athlete, there will always be someone faster than you. And on the flip side, there will always be someone slower that you. So pick your route, stick to your plan and race against the most daunting competitor: Yourself.

Think positive thoughts. Above all, its important to focus on what you already have achieved, rather than what you might not. Whether its attempting a new distance, making it through a grueling training schedule or just having the guts to step up to the starting line, youve got something to celebrate.

Two Loomis Senior Center residents die from toxic mushrooms

Without knowledge of whether the wild mushrooms were toxic, a caregiver at Loomis seniors facility has unfortunately killed two residents and has hospitalized four others after preparing a soup for the residents to consume.

Placer County Sheriffs Lt. Mark Reed stated that his deputies were contacted around 10 a.m. to come to the residential location on Friday November 9th 2012. At this time it was said that deputies responded to the facility and interviewed residents to account for who had eaten the soup and who had not.

According to News 10, it is said that there is no news of foul play and it was simply an accident. The mushrooms were overlooked seeing as the caregiver had no knowledge of their poisonous properties.
