Curvacious Adele reveals her fattening food favorites

Call it an "un-diet." Successful singer and award-winner Adele says she loves to eat, and "I just eat lots of it." Her postive self-image allows her to be focused on pleasing herself, not teh public's image of the "ideal" singer.

Trying to lose a substantial amount of weight or just those last, stubborn 5-10 pounds? Well your solution could be as easy as eating a hearty, healthy breakfast. So what exactly constitutes a big breakfast? A recent study found that individuals who ate a healthy, balanced breakfast of up to 600 calories lost more weight (and kept it off) compared to those who only ate about 300 calories for breakfast. The goal is to provide yourself with adequate healthy fats, high-quality proteins, and hearty, whole grains in order to give yourself sufficient energy and leave you feeling full and satisfied until lunch time.

A perfect example of a healthy, balanced breakfast can be found at your local First Watch in Tampa, Fl. Order the nutritious and delicious Triathlete Omelet (250 calories) with a side of fruit (50 calories) and dry English muffin (110 calories) and a bowl of oatmeal (150 calories) for a total of about 560 calories. Dont want to go to a restaurant for breakfast? Make your own healthy vegetable omelet with a side of fresh fruit, a dry whole wheat English muffin (or slice of whole wheat or rye toast), and cup Quaker plain rolled oats (topped with 1/2 tbs cinnamon and chopped raw walnuts and a packet of Stevia for added flavor and healthy fats). A Renewed Effort to Fight Alzheimers Disease

The Obama administration has tasked the science community with finding some effective treatments for Alzheimers disease by 2025. Experts consider the quest as ambitious. Still, health advocates applaud the governments initiative, calling it an important step towards prevention, delay and, eventually, cure of the disorder.

Alzheimers disease is one of the most feared health conditions among Baby Boomers, second only to cancer, according to a survey conducted by the Alzheimers Association and the Harvard School of Public Health, which was first published at an international conference in Paris, France, last year. However, because of stigma and misinformation about Alzheimers and other forms of dementia, too many cases still remain undiagnosed. As a first step, the government has announced a major campaign to better educate both the medical community and the public at large about the disease.

Alzheimers is the most significant social and health crisis of the 21st century, said Dr. William Thies, the Chief Medical and Scientific Officer of the Alzheimers Association. The overwhelming numbers of people whose lives will be altered by the disease, combined with the staggering economic burden on families and nations, make Alzheimers the defining disease of this generation. However, if governments act urgently to develop national research and care strategies with appropriate smart investments, the impact of Alzheimers and dementia can be managed, he added.

Currently, over five million Americans suffer from Alzheimers and other forms of dementias, a toll that is expected to triple by 2050. The numbers may be much higher yet because as many as half of those affected have not been formally diagnosed. Over 80,000 patients die from the disease every year, making Alzheimers the sixth leading cause of death in the U.S.

The annual costs for treatments and care of Alzheimers patients in the U.S. amounted approximately to $183 billion in 2011; they are expected to reach over one trillion dollars by 2050. The vast majority of people with Alzheimers receive home care by relatives, which is not covered by Medicare and most health insurance plans. For this reason, the new government initiative also aims at providing some form of relief for overwhelmed families who carry the burden of caring for loved ones, although the details hereto are still unclear.

Alzheimers is the most common form of dementia. The disease worsens as it progresses and leads to death within four to seven years on average, although 20 years are not unheard of. It was first described in 1906 by the German psychiatrist and neuropathologist, Alois Alzheimer, and was named after him.

Early symptoms are often overlooked or misinterpreted as age- or stress-related phenomena such as forgetfulness or confusion. Since the disease affects each individual differently, predicting its course is difficult.

What causes Alzheimers in the first place is not yet fully understood. Currently available treatments can only help with its symptomatic effects but are not able to halt or reverse progression. Some have suggested that diet, exercise and mental stimulation can have a positive impact, however, there is no clinically proven evidence that such measures have a real effect in terms of prevention.

Still, most experts agree that healthy diet and lifestyle choices are the best weapons we currently have against all age-related diseases, including Alzheimers and dementia.

Most people living the low-carb lifestyle can tell you that wheat isnt as healthy as the mainstream nutritional experts would like us to think. Wheat Belly gives us the history of wheat. While that may not sound terribly interesting, I assure you it is. Especially if you are concerned about hybydized foods. One surprising fact, for me, was how much insect repellent/weed killer ended up in todays wheat supply. I was originally a little confused about this process, thinking the wheat had been genetically modified, so I asked Dr. Davis to clarify. Heres what he said:

Wheat was changed employing techniques that were crude, tough to control, less precise than modern genetic modification. In short, wheat was changed using techniques that were far WORSE than genetic modification. Thats how bad this thing is.

Dr. Davis talks about the other properties in wheat, besides gluten, that can cause health problems. He lays out the groundwork to show us that wheat can affect a variety of bodily functions. World Championship qualifiers at the Toronto Triathlon Festival this summer

Serious athletes, take note: July 2012 marks the inaugural Toronto Triathlon Festival. Why is this festival important? 4,ooo Miami-Dade Parks summer campers start each day running the Morning Mile

Summer campers at 20 Miami-Dade county parks start the day with a run as part of the Morning Mile , a fitness program that equips schools and parks with materials and guidance to successfully incorporate a morning running program into their curricula. Miami-Dade Parks partnered with AvMed Health Plans to incorporate the Morning Mile program into its already successful Fit-to-Play, Green-it-Up summer camp program which provides children with a physical fitness, nutrition, and overall wellness program for kids ages 6-14.

To inaugurate the program, there was an opening ceremony on Wednesday, July 13th at Westwind Lakes Park with Chairman Joe A. Martinez, Parks Director Jack Kardys, AvMed Health Plans President and COO Ed Hannum, Morning Mile founder Fitz Koehler, and summer campers from Westwind Lakes and other participating parks. The event began with a one-mile run on the field with the children and invited dignitaries, and was followed by a few words from each of the guests.

The 20 participating parks include Arcola Park, Arcola Lakes Park, Cinco de Mayo Park, Continental Park, Country Village Park, Deerwood-Bonita Lakes Park, Goulds Park, Hammocks Community Park, Highland Oaks Park, Martin Luther King Park, North Glade Park, North Trail Park, Raices at Miller Drive Park, Ruben Dario Park, South Dade Park, Sgt. ABC replaces soaps with weight-loss show from Biggest Loser producers (Photos)

ABC dropped a bombshell today on fans of All My Children and One Life to Live with news that both soaps would be ending by the end of the year. The network will be keeping one soap -- General Hospital -- and replacing the other soaps with shows focused on food and health.

The show we're most interested in is The Revolution (working title), from Biggest Loser executive Producer JD Roth and 3 Ball Productions. The daily show will be about about women's weight loss and lifestyle transformations.

The team of experts will be led by fashion expert Tim Gunn, who has dressed many Biggest Loser contestants in their makeover episodes. Also on the team is celebrity trainer Harley Pasternak (5 Factor Diet) and American Idol finalist Kimberley Locke. We've talked with Pasternak before, and he's a great motivator who really makes diet and fitness simple.

Every week will focus on one woman's five-month weight-loss journey. A fat loss review can help you produce a clear outline of what you require to focus on to complete your fat reducing goal if you're a starter; or serve as a reminder for these who are at an intermediate or more enhance stage of their weightloss strategy.
