2. Drink plenty of water and calorie free beverages such as herbal teas. Staying hydrated while dieting is essential. Be sure to hydrate yourself without taking in additional calories.

3. Aim to eat protein with every meal. Protein takes longer to be broken down, digested and metabolized. Try a tablespoon of peanut butter, a 1/4 cup of tofu or a serving of lean meat with your meals.

4. Dr. Oz show: Carb Lover's Diet: eat 5 nights of carbs to lose 5 pounds

Ingredients

Makes 2 servings

1 1/2 lb carrots (about 8 large carrots)

1/4 tsp coarse salt, or more to taste

Preheat oven to 425F. Spray 2 baking sheets with nonstick spray. Cut carrots into French-fry-shaped spears and lay them on the sheets. Cut your fries into similar sizes. Otherwise some may burn while others are barely cooked.
