Dallas Athletes Racing encourages everyone this Memorial Day to honor our troops and your body by signing up for the 2nd annual Wounded Warrior Half Marathon and 10K run and one mile military escort run (link) scheduled for Sunday June 12th in downtown Las Colinas.
This event was created to honor the men and women of the military and their families and help raise money for two worthy causes; the Semper Fi Fund, and ReserveAid (fund raising page). The Semper Fi Fund provides financial assistance for Marines, Sailors and other military personnel assigned to Marine Forces, injured in post 9-11 combat, training, or with life threatening illnesses. ReserveAid is a nonprofit organization committed to providing financial support to the families of Reserve Service Members from all branches, which have been called to active duty and are experiencing financial difficulty.
All races begin at Williams Square (map) in Las Colinas at 7 or 7:15 am. The majority of the race will take place on the beautiful yet hill-less Campion Trails and will loop back to Williams Square for the post race party and awards ceremony. The fun and excitement is guaranteed to continue with food, drink and music provided by country music recording artist Dave Roberts, a native Texan and Captain Cobra Pilot with the Marines who is currently serving in Afghanistan.
