Do you put soda pop in your cars fuel tank? Of course you dont. Your car would not perform if you did. Do you feed Twinkies and donuts to your baby so that she or he can grow up big, healthy, and strong? Goodness, I hope not. And if your best friend was in the hospital suffering from a case of malnutrition, would you bring some potato chips as a get-well offering?

Some food does not rank high nutritionally. If your health is important to you, this article is for you. And if your health is important to you and you already practice what I am about to preach, then you can pass this on to someone who may have missed the boat when it comes to making healthful choices consistently.

Junk food has little nutritional value. What a surprise. I would like to teach you two terms:

  1. Nutritious dense or nutrient dense. This means that you get a lot of bang for your buck. Take bright leafy greens for example. Sometimes called super foods they provide a huge amount of antioxidants, plenty of fiber, some plant protein, healthy carbs, and zero of the stuff we should avoid. Eating foods that are nutrient dense is like putting the highest octane fuel in your car. A fat burning overview can help you produce a clear describe of what you require to focus on to carry out your fat burning objective if you're a starter; or serve as a reminder for those who are at an intermediate or more advance level of their weight-loss program. Promptly after are seven steps that can serve as instructions for your own weight loss plan. The first thing that one must understand is that losing weight and losing fat is not the same. Many weight loss applications have fooled people into believing that it is the same, but most diets and weight loss plans only work by leading to a person's body to lose more muscle cells and water than actual body fat, more help please visit The Fat Loss Factor. It tastes great and you will be healthier.
  2. Empty calories. Not such a good deal. These are foods that have so much fat, and or sugar, and or other processed ingredients, that there is no room for the stuff of good health, like micro and macro nutrients. If you eat a lot of foods like these, you will still be undernourished, even if you are overfed. And you will eat more of food like this because they are void of nutrients. Your body knows that you are starving yourself.

Be careful. Junk food is potentially habit forming. And I mean bad habits. Once your body is hooked on refined sugars and simple carbohydrates (as opposed to naturally occurring sugar, such as in fruit, and long-chain or complex carbs, which you find in veggies and multi-grain flourless bread) you will simply crave more of it. That pesky sugar, it is such an addictive substance. But you can steer your body to the healthier stuff.

Do not get caught up in the myth that the only food that tastes good is not good for you. Nothing could be further from the truth. In fact, when you learn how to tank up with nutrient dense food you will experience a double positive whammy: food that makes you feel good, that provides sustained energy, that is good for your heart, that helps you maintain optimal health, that helps prevent (rather than promote) inflammation, and that is void of nasty things like excess sugar, trans-fat and toxic preservatives will be the most delicious food you will ever eat. Steamed broccoli anyone?
