Thanksgiving means a time to get together with family and friends and being thankful for all that you have. But sometimes Thanksgiving also means traveling. Travel any time of year can be stressful, but during the holidays it can be especially stressful, with flight delays, rushing around, and not knowing when you're going to eat again, and what it will be. With Colorado Springs being a military city, there will be a lot of travel to and from the city. How do you not gain weight or at least hold even during this time?

When a body is stressed, it releases the hormone cortisol, which puts the body in the "fight or flight" response that is essential for survival. It increases blood sugar, increases blood pressure, and supresses the immune system. Long-term exposure to cortisol can lead to weight gain, as insulin and appetite levels are continually increased. As the insulin levels stay high, that will increase glucose production. A fat reducing review can help you establish a clear outline of what you demand to focus on to achieve your fat burning goal if you're a starter; or serve as a reminder for those who are at an intermediate or more enhance phase of their weight-loss plan. Following are seven steps that can serve as tips for your own weight loss program. The first thing that one must understand is that losing weight and losing fat is not exactly the same thing. Many weight loss courses have misled people into believing that it is the same, but most diets and weight loss programs only work by resulting in a person's body to reduce more muscle tissue and water than actual body fat, more help please visit The Fat Loss Factor. Glucose is converted into fat, ending up as stored fat.

So, how do you de-stress and stay healthy during travel? First of all, drink your water. It will help flush toxins from your body, which will help your body stay healthy, and it will help you to stay hydrated.

Eat as healthy as you can on your trip. Even in an airport you can eat a salad or lean protein. Don't skip breakfast! You may think that will help you to keep your weight in check, but it will actually have the reverse effect, by making your body go into starvation mode, thus stressing it out (remember the cortisol?). Make breakfast your most important meal. Hotels have healthy cereals, fruits, and eggs.

Walk around in the sunshine. Exercise relieves stress and the light gives your mood a boost as your body releases serotonin. It will also help to reset your internal clock.

Take some time for YOU. Each night, take a few moments to relax and breathe deep. Simple stretching exercises will help ease tension in your body and help you to relax.

If you do have unexpected delays, just know that there is nothing you can do about it at that moment, and take that time to people-watch or to close your eyes for a minute to reset yourself.

If you follow these tips, you should be able to keep your weight gain to a minimum or even to hold steady at your present weight. Enjoy your time with your family and friends and remember to relax.
