The title alone may sound combative, but it isnt. I am just going to give you a little insight to my experience regarding NutriSystem.
The company says they are A Weight Loss Program for the 21st Century. I disagree.
In college, I gained a lot of weight my freshman year and needed a quick fix. The small town I was living in had a NutriSystem center and I went. It was a cubicle type or setting. The sales reps also known as counselors were nice enough to take my money and my eyes were starry of weight loss promises.
And I did lose weight. Sixty pounds to be exact. I ate their food and supplemented fruits and veggies and tuna Upon reflection, I never was full on their food. A lot of money was being spent on their food and my supplement food from the grocery store. While I was losing the weight, I was losing nutrientsrapidly. So fast that my bodys immune system was so weak that I succumbed to mono and was almost hospitalized!
Would I ever recommend NutriSystem? No.
The food was not engineered with my health in mind. For vitamins and minerals, I had to get supplements. And I thought I had to get THEIR supplements and I couldnt afford them. I was a fat college kid who could barely afford the meal plan and all the extras were too much.
The doctor who treated my illness was not favorable to this diet, so I parted ways with NutriSystem. The weight stayed off for awhile.
And you know when you have failed and all of the self-defeating behavior you had before comes roaring back like a freight trainyep, you guessed it. I gained it all back.
