In last night's episode 19 of the Biggest Loser, the remaining five contestants are challenged with final exams and the final cut is made for the Final Four. After 19 weeks on the Ranch, the contestants have gone from 22 to 5 and they are looking very good! Coming off the Makeovers of last week, you can really see the extreme changes that they have gone through. Three girls - Hannah, Olivia and Irene - who are all very close to their goal weights; and two guys - Jay and Austin - who have made great progress.
This week is about final exams as each of the contestants have to meet with each trainer [Bob, Jillian, Cara and Brett] and be quizzed on a certain focus of health and wellness. It is kind of hokey and seems like a time-filler until the real stuff happens next week. But it is interesting to see their different styles and how they show what they have learned on the ranch. - Trainer Cara - "You've got to be a fighter every day in your life"
- Trainer Jillian to Jay, trying to motivate him to push himself further - "Whenever you have a why to live for, you can tolerate any amount of pain"
- Austin to himself as Bob pushes him - "You are capable of this. You can do it."
- Olivia to Cara - "I never see myself as a champion." - and five minutes later - "I am a champion!"
- Austin on the importance of nutrition - "Every calorie has to have a reason"
- Jay on his family back home - "They've never had a father they could look up to. I can never go back to my old ways"
Straight A student Olivia wins the exams challenge and wins $10,000.00 for her efforts. We have watched him grow up on the ranch. He continues his journey at home as he visits his elementary school to teach the kids about health and wellness.
