"They'd come to my house, stand across the street and yell things. It was a very emotional time for me, and all I wanted to do was get away," Demi revealed to People magazine yesterday. The pain of being bullied by her peers is one reason that Demi sought treatment for her eating disorder and cutting. Now she's proud of taking action to prevent bullying by serving as the new ambassador for Secret's "Mean Stinks" campaign, encouraging girls to "gang up for good" to end bullying in schools, reported People magazine.
The result of all these efforts: Demi enjoys her life, she told Access Hollywood yesterday. She has stopped harming herself by participating in healthy activities such as exercising. Addressing her recent switch to bangs, Demi added, "I joke around that it's the only way that I really can express my impulsiveness and my rebellion. My life is so drama-free now - which is amazing and I'm so excited about it - but yeah, I do like to have fun and experiment with my hair." It's a healthy change from the days when she "expressed herself" by hurting herself.
