In this week's Episode 18, it is Makeover Week and everyone knows what that means! Glamour, pretty dresses and a little bit of spoiling. And after 18 weeks at the Ranch, the contestants are ready and willing. Fashion expert Tim Gunn guides them as he shows up in a white carriage drawn by white horses. - Olivia - "I have never felt beautiful in my adult life. This is more than just a Makeover week, it's for the rest of my life. I feel beautiful", as she greets her husband, who has also lost 99 lbs at home to support her. And the best quote of the night, "Something has truly changed on the inside", as Oliva explains her transformation.
- Hannah - loves "being happy" and greets her dad, who gushes over her new look, "It's exhilarating for a father". Hannah says, "This is the new Hannah and I have a new life to live"
- Austin tells Tim Gunn, "I never felt like I had command when I wore a tuxedo. I do now. I stand straighter, there's someone to be proud of". He meets his mom, who was used to Austin walking with his head down, and now "pride wells up inside". Austin says, "I am living a life I am proud of and it's the first time I can say that"
- Irene - in a beautiful pink sparkly dress, forgot that she used to be a "girly-girl" and feels "like a princess again". She greets her mom Ana, who has also lost 75 lbs at home and is proud of her daughter.
- Jay - after losing 142 lbs so far, "Has never felt better, stronger, prouder. I am no longer a fat man in a suit". He has a touching reunion with his son Matthew, who grew disillusioned with his father at 400 lbs.
The challenge of the week, besides the makeover, is a beach sand-digging and running contest. The 2 winners get a new Mazda car for their efforts. Irene and Oliva win and Olivia exclaims, "This car represents a new beginning". It still seems like a fairy tale. And then it's time for the weigh-in. Jay and Olivia fall below the yellow line and are up for elimination, but self-appointed "Fairy Godfather" Tim Gunn steps in and the yellow line "disappears" for the week. Another Biggest Loser first, or so they keep telling us. Too bad we couldn't have that at home, right? No one goes home for the week. Next week is the battle for the final four and then the Finale.
