At 75, superstar Jane Fonda has done it all. She's the original aerobics queen - and hasn't stopped, creating new fitness DVDs such as "Jane Fonda: Prime Time - Fit & Strong" and "Jane Fonda Prime Time: Trim, Tone & Flex." Staying strong and lean throughout her "older and wiser" years, Jane has spanned decades in her acting career, from the infamous "Barbarella: Queen of the Galaxy" in her early years to her new "Peace Love & Misunderstanding." But when Jane talked with Katie Couric on her Dec 11 show, this sexy septuagenarian made it clear that her life hasn't all been Spanx and stars. Joining celebrities like Lady Gaga and Demi Lovato, Jane opened up about her bulimia and battle with low esteem and body image.
Jane links her eating disorder to her self-image, feeling pressured to be as thin as possible and struggling with her own perception of herself. Now healthy and happy, Jane offers these tips for savoring life into your 70s and beyond:
- Stay strong with exercise, from toning to yoga. Jane's even developed her own yoga DVD, "Jane Fonda Am/Pm Yoga for Beginners."
- Eat a wide range of colorful fruits and veggies. Enjoy healthy, lean protein, such as turkey bacon.
- Jane avoids sweets, butter and fast foods, as well as foods that are high in fat.
- Stay active, including exercising your brain. A fat reducing overview can help you produce a clear outline of what you need to focus on to achieve your fat burning target if you're a starter; or serve as a reminder for those who are at an advanced or more enhance step of their weightloss plan.
