Ever wonder what a small town dance and fitness studio might look like? Head on over to downtown Niles, Michigan and check out Lace Dance & Fitness. Owner Lacey Peters opened this wonderful studio in January of 2011 and offers a wide variety of different classes, events and personal training. With it's wood floors and mirrored front wall, this space brings back the feel of a 1950's era dance studio. Although the Main Street Wall is now bricked over, it once looked out onto the main road through downtonwn Niles.
Zumba, a popular Latin dance based workout, is the studio's staple class. After putting her own touch on Latin and hip-hop dance routines, Lacey, a certified Zumba instructor, has managed to draw in crowds ranging from toddlers to senior citizens.
In addition to Zumba, the studio offers Yoga with a certified instructor, Ab Fitness and Hip-Hop as well as children's dance classes. Monthly events such as Salsa Night, Couples Yoga and Mommy-N-Baby Yoga are also a fun way to enjoy time with family and friends.
Lace Dance & Fitness just recently hosted the first annual Women's Day Expo on June 7, 2011 under the French Market tents down by the Riverfront Park. This event, coordinated by Lacey, brought over 25 women-owned businesses together to show the residents what downtown Niles is all about. With a head for business and a shining personality, Lacey is determined to take her studio to the next level.
All classes are $5.00 drop in rates and personal training is also offered starting at $30.00 per hour. The studio can also accommodate large parties for such events as birthday parties, bachelorette parties or a good old fashioned girls or guys night out. Rates for private parties can be obtained by contacting Lacey at the studio.
