Baffled by her 70-pound baby bump that won't budge, Jessica Simpson will make her first post-pregnancy TV appearance on the premiere episode of Katie Couric's new talk show on September 10 to focus on fat, revealed the Washington Post Tuesday. On the menu: Jessica's discussion about the "intense challenge" that she faces in losing her weight, including "nasty rumors," according to the Post. Not yet known: if Jessica will comment on the snark attack from "Biggest Loser" trainer Bob Harper, who commented to Celebuzz recently that he's not sure Jessica Simpson can shed her famous post-pregnancy pounds because "it seems like she definitely likes her food," at which point he laughed. (Memo to Jessica: It could be worse - Bob also referred to Heidi Klum as a "freak of nature" because of her ability to lose her baby weight so quickly.)
The show, cleverly called "Katie" after (yup, you guessed it!) host Katie Couric, will unveil the deep, dark secrets of how Jessica really feels about her Weight Watchers journey, reported People magazine yesterday. Jessica plans to reveal how her life has changed since her tiny daughter was born on May 1. "I think anybody who's gone through a pregnancy, after they have the baby, it's like, 'I need to do something about this,'" Jessica told People magazine about her 70-pound weight war. "For me, I really want to do something that is a lifestyle, because in the past, I've been known to yo-yo diet."
However, Jessica now faces the challenge of slimming down before her appearance. The Daily Mail reported yesterday that she wants to reach 130 pounds, which reportedly is the goal weight set for her by Weight Watchers. And it's more than pride in her appearance at stake: Jessica has a $4 million endorsement deal.
