The proceeds from the Urban Challenge are donated to Kidds Kids which pays for children with life threatening diseases and their families to visit Disney World. In Fort Worths Urban Challenge, you and your sweetheart will embark on Fort Worth at noon for an adventure very much like the television show, The Amazing Race. Each team will be given an envelope with 12 clues that must be solved. Proof of solving the clues must be recorded on your own digital camera.
The types of clues could include:
- Physical challenges: may include feeding your teammate food, competing in a game, or doing something that would be daring.
- Scavenger hunt: Return to the finish line with a specific item or locate a specific vendor.
- Puzzles: Could include Suduko puzzles, crossword puzzles, or seek and finds.
- Brain Teasers: Anything that could challenge the mind. May be required to PHONE A FRIEND, so make sure that you pack a cell phone with your digital camera.
- Challenge: Anything that would be interaction with the public
Just as on the television show, an incorrect answer or an uncompleted clue will result in a 30 minute penalty, and teams are not given the opportunity to go back and complete a clue correctly.
Prizes for the teams who finish in the top 25 with correctly answered clues will receive:
- First place $ 300.00
- Second place $ 150.00
- Third place $ 75.00
- Fourth through twenty fifth place: Medal
Prizes will also be awarded for:
- Best Costume
- Funniest picture
- Top Family Division/Team
