In last night's emotional Episode 12 of The Biggest Loser, we see what it means to be a leader and the choices you must make to either tough it out or walk away. The remaining 11 players are split into 4 teams, each with their own trainer and one person comes back to the Ranch after previously being voted off - Jay, Jen's dad. The teams have been going strong now for 11 weeks and the improvements in their body are very noticable now. But it's not just the outside that they are changing, as we find out during their still grueling workouts:
- Moses - "Cardio is the toughest thing for me, but I will do it", as he works hard on the bike, pushed by his teammates
- Justin - "It's exciting to finally become what you want to be. I have an inner strength now. The inner transformation matters more than the weights"
- Trainer Brett - "You think the physical stuff is hard, but it is the emotional stuff that is hardest", as he encourages his team to reflect, to take time out to breathe and remember why they are there.
- Kaylee - "This experience has brought out things deep inside of me. I found what I was looking for emotionally. A fat burning overview can help you construct a clear describe of what you need to focus on to carry out your fat reduction purpose if you're a starter; or serve as a reminder for these who are at an intermediate or more advance phase of their weight-loss plan. In an ironic twist of fate, Kaylee has made the decision to go home herself and purposely doesn't lose weight so that she will be sent home. Unfortunately, her teammate Ken loses enough weight to keep their team safe and her plans are trashed as one of the red team members will go home - Justin or Courtney. Justin, who has been a leader and tough guy the entire 11 weeks, has spent his time "calling out" team members, pushing everyone constantly, toughing it out and making everyone around him tough it out. Courtney, who is loved by all and just reached her goal of losing over 200 lbs with this weigh-in, doesn't want to leave. While Kaylee, who had wanted to walk away, is now forced to stay.
Justin falls on the sword for Courtney and ends up leaving the Ranch. Also ironically, he was the leader on bodyfat percentage lost up to this point. Courtney stays another week and Justin goes home where he puts his new plans into action, continues to lose more weight at home and looks fantastic. He takes what he learned on the Ranch and puts it into action at home, starting "Justin's Call Out", which he says is more like a "Help out". He is a true leader as he continues his journey and teaches along the way. He encourages everyone to "find that person that's in you. Find the courage. It's the best thing."
