Runners ready to race, rock n roll-style, in San Jose this weekend

The Rock 'n' Roll Half Marathon San Jose is one of the many musically-themed races in the Competitor Group's Rock 'n' Roll Marathon series, but to those in search of a PR this weekend, it may be better known as Californias fastest half marathon.

More than 14,000 entrants are preparing to toe the starting line this Sunday, October 7, on a course thats home to both of the current California state half-marathon records: 1:00:22, set by Kenyas Duncan Kibet in 2006, and 1:09:17, established by Silvia Skortsova of Russia the same year.

The Rock n Roll San Jose Half Marathon has become a Bay Area running tradition, Roger Craig, the races co-founder and a three-time Super Bowl Champion with the San Francisco 49ers, told Competitor.com.
