Eden Medical Center presents their annual Run to the Lake and kids' fun run on Sunday, July 8. This year's event honors the outgoing Eden Hospital building, built in 1954, which will be replaced with a new state-of-the-art hospital at the end of this year. The 5K and 10K race starts at 8:00 a.m. in front of Eden Medical Center and continues to Lake Chabot Regional Park and back. There is also a 50-yard Kids' Dash for ages three through eight at 9:30 a.m., and all registered children will receive a finisher ribbon, t-shirt and goodie bag.
The Run
Both courses run from Eden Medical Center to Lake Chabot and back. The 5K course is mostly flat and fast on paved surfaces. The 10K course winds along the rolling west trail of beautiful Lake Chabot, with paved and trail surfaces. Chip timing will be provided for both runs, and all finishers will receive the official Run to the Lake T-shirt.

Health Expo
A free Health Expo from 7:30-10:30 a.m. is open to the entire community. The Health Expo features music, giveaways, refreshments, health information, free health screenings, plus an expired medication and mercury thermometer drop-off center. This year a fun photo booth will also be available for participants to capture their Run to the Lake memories for a $5 donation. All proceeds benefit Eden's Trauma Center.
