No matter where you live, your state has a Senior Olympics. A fat burning overview can help you build a clear outline of what you need to focus on to complete your fat reducing goal if you're a beginner; or serve as a reminder for the ones who are at an intermediate or more enhance step of their weight-loss program. Promptly after are seven steps that can serve as suggestions for your special weight loss system. The first thing that one must understand is that losing weight and losing fat is not exactly the same thing. Many weight loss plans have fooled people into wondering that it is the same, but most diets and weight loss plans only work by leading to a person's body to burn more muscle cells and water than actual body fat, more help please visit The Fat Loss Factor. For residents of New Mexico, the Albuquerque 50+ games will take place from March 10 through May 22. If you are even a semi-serious athlete, you may even want to enter the games. If you just want to watch, you can do that, too. Of course, all that does is make you wish you had exercised all your life to be in the shape that these "senior" athletes are in to compete.

The competitions are with people in your own age group (5-year increments), and are broken down by male/female, singles, doubles, and mixed. For events that require a partner or partners, the organizers will try to match you up with somebody. Winners in the qualifying games then go on to compete in the state games, and the top six finishers in each division at the state level go to the National Senior Games, held every other year, too. This year, the nationals are June 16-30 in Houston, TX. (Not exactly the city most people would choose in the summer time!) The qualifying games are also held every other year (even-numbered). Whether you are a beginner or a diehard competitor, there is something for everyone. Swimming and tennis are popular events.

For more information, read the article in the February 27 issue of the Albuquerque Journal "Boomer" supplement (starts on page 5). You can get the entire schedule of events and registration forms online at the City Senior Affairs website. The information starts on page 13 of the catalog that is online. You can also pick up a schedule and registration forms at the Palo Duro Sports and Fitness Center (3351 Monroe NE, Albuquerque).

If anyone ever thought that people over the age of 50 have one foot in the grave, well, watching these people compete will turn your thinking around quickly. And, if you are not a sports person but would like to start, watching just might put the bug into you. The games are fun, the events are well organized, and everyone is cheering for everyone else. And, even for those who do not win, just entering makes you a winner.
