"I Can Make You Hot!: The Supermodel Diet," by Kelly Killoren Bensimon (St. Martin's Press, $24.99)
Best known as one of the "Real Housewives of New York City" who enjoys jogging down the middle of Manhattan streets, Kelly Killoren Bensimon has written a book, released on Tuesday, that shares her supermodel secrets to a lean and strong body.
Among the topics discussed in her book:
- How to train yourself to never skip a meal.
- Loading up on real food -- not bars, powders, or fake stuff.
- A seven-day diet.
- A three-day "supermodel diet."
- Never be afraid of a big carb-filled lunch.
- How to lose 3 to 5 pounds quickly.
- How to satisfy your cravings without sabotaging your health.
- Why you should learn to love food youve been brainwashed into fearing, such as dairy and eggs.
The book includes 60 recipes that are favorites of Bensimon, including Eggplant Lasagna, Shrimp Taco Tuesdays, Kelly Green Juice, and Mexican Dancer Tortillas.
There are a couple of sections of photos, the first of Bensimon's childhood and modeling past. and the second of her recipes, which, frankly, are badly lighted and feature a little too much of Bensimon's smiling face and not enough of the food.
Interspersed though the book are Kelly's Cardinal Rules and Kelly's Hot Tips, such as:
"Don't call it working out because exercise shouldn't be work!"
Remember, Bensimon's not a trainer, or a nutritionist or any sort of health expert, so take her advice with a grain of salt -- make that truffle salt, which she suggests in her list of must-have foods.
