As a follower of the Weight Watchers PointsPlus program, you are no doubt making smarter food choices and rethinking the ingredients you use in your recipes. You may be asking yourself Can I eat my favorite party foods and still remain on program?

The answer is an astounding Yes, you can! By making a few simple ingredient substitutions, you can whip up a batch of your favorite party foods guilt-free.

This recipe for spinach and artichoke dip has all of the rich, tasty goodness of the original, but with a lot less fat:

Ingredients

1 cup low-fat mayonnaise
1 box frozen chopped spinach (thawed and thoroughly drained)

1 Tbsp minced garlic
1 pinch fresh ground pepper
1 tsp olive oil

Preparation

  1. Preheat the oven to 400 degrees.
  2. Mix mayo, spinach, cream cheese, artichoke hearts, parmesan cheese and garlic together.
  3. Pour the mixture into a 1-quart casserole dish. Sprinkle with remaining parmesan cheese and drizzle with olive oil.
  4. Cover with foil and bake for 30 minutes.
  5. Remove the foil and broil for 3 minutes (or until top is browned and bubbling)

Serve with low-fat crackers, pita chips, tortilla chips or pretzels.
