I recently interviewed the author of the famous Digest Diet, which tells how to lose up to 26 pounds in 3 weeks. In this exclusive Q&A, author Liz Vaccariello, explains how to use fat-releasing foods to achieve the weight loss you've been wanting. The book is available at http://www.digestdiet.com/.

I asked Liz: As a health expert, what surprised you the most about your research into what really works for weight loss? "First, I was amazed at how many forces in our environment are encouraging our bodies to hold onto fat," said Liz. "When people say that they have a hard time losing weight, its not in their imagination. Some of the things that make us hold onto fatlike sitting too muchare in our control, and somelike too much air pollution, or having a job that requires a lot of thinking power--are not."

In addition, Liz said that food plays a key role in helping the body release fat. "Calcium and vitamin C, for instance, are major fat releasers. Studies have found that being deficient in these two micronutrients is associated with having a higher percentage of body fat. Getting optimal amounts leads to less body fat and better appetite control. So real natural foods like low-fat milk and cheese (for their calcium) and broccoli, red bell peppers and citrus fruits (for their vitamin C) are the key to releasing our most stubborn fat stores."

Curious to learn how her book impacted her own diet, I asked Liz to describe the effects on her food plan. "Ive learned that cooking at home is better for your waistline, and doesnt have to be hard or time-consuming," she said. " I especially love the hearty soupsthey taste great and really fill you up. A fat loss review can help you establish a clear outline of what you need to focus on to accomplish your fat reduction goal if you're a beginner; or serve as a reminder for the ones who are at an advanced or more enhance phase of their weight loss strategy. Following are seven steps that can serve as tips for your special weight loss program. The first thing that one must understand is that losing weight and losing fat is not the same thing. Many weight loss programs have misled people into thinking that it is the same, but most diets and weight loss applications only work by resulting in a person's body to eliminate more muscle cells and water than actual body fat, more help please visit The Fat Loss Factor. I can cook up a big batch on the weekend, and freeze leftovers as either an appetizer or main meal for the rest of the week. My family loves them too. It really fits my lifestyle. And it means I know exactly what my family is eating." One major change that Liz loves: coconut oil. "It gives a whole different flavor to stir fries and rice dishes. Plus, a 2009 Brazilian study showed that it helped decrease waist circumference in abdominally obese women while improving their ratio of good to bad cholesterol," she said.

I questioned Liz about the 1 change that you should make if you want to lose weight and get the book. "What our readers have found so helpful is the four-day jumpstart, called the Fast Release phase, which is designed to give you big results while flooding your body with nutrition," she said. "This kind of rapid weight loss is extremely motivating. Test panelists have told me the 4-day jumpstart catapulted them into the right mindset to lose weight. They were so happy to see fast results, and immediate benefits like more energy and clothes fitting better. Getting into a positive groove early can get you into a happy place where the changes youre making just become ingrained into your day-to-day life."
