The DASH diet is one that many people have looked towards because it has been ranked the best diet in the U.S. for two years now. But what exactly is the DASH diet? And most importantly - will it work for you?

DASH stands for Dietary Approaches to Stop Hypertension, which basically means the diet was actually designed for people with hypertension (high blood pressure), but many others have claimed that the DASH diet works for them as well. This diet came about because of the high rates of obesity in the U.S., and obesity is one of the leading causes for hypertension.

The reason for all the hype with this diet is because of the nutrition and exercise plan that it contains. Is this really all they could come up with? This is what research is bringing us after similar diets such as DASH were established nearly more than a decade ago?

To answer the question whether it will work or not is simple. Yes and no just like any other diet plan. The general outlook of the DASH diet is focused on eating right and doing some exercise training while avoiding fatty fast foods and the like. Might as well just award this title to 90% of the personal trainers out there who have already been preaching this dietary method long before.
