Should a child be put on a strict diet? One mom thinks so - and she wrote about her 7-year-old daughter's diet "success" in the April issue of Vogue. The article author, Dara-Lynn Weiss, says the child's doctor informed her that "we needed to do something" about the little girl's weight. She's not alone: The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention say that almost 20 percent of kids and teens ages 2 to 19 are obese. And at age 7, Bea was officially obese, weighing (at 4 feet, 4 inches tall), 93 pounds.

In the article, however, Dara-Lynn describes how she verbally abused her little girl, Bea, for consuming an "inappropriate" food at the home of a friend. A fat burning review can help you construct a clear describe of what you require to focus on to accomplish your fat reducing target if you're a starter; or serve as a reminder for those who are at an advanced or more enhance level of their losing weight program. Following are seven steps that can serve as guidelines for your special weight loss plan. The first thing that one must understand is that losing weight and losing fat is not the same. Many weight loss applications have misled people into believing that it is the same, but most diets and weight loss programs only work by leading to a person's body to burn more muscle flesh and water than actual body fat, more help please visit The Fat Loss Factor. In addition, she denied Bea her dinner because the little girl, now 7, had supposedly consumed hundreds of calories of cheese and steak at a "French Heritage Day" at school. It's reminiscent of Gwen Stefani, who has said she's been on a diet since 6th grade and called it a "nightmare."

Although the controversy about the article has been harsh as far as the mother's steps, it does point out the issues of parents with children who have weight issues.

What do you think? Should a child be put on a diet, or are there better solutions? Bea's mother notes she took her to a child obesity specialist - but were those harsh words necessary?
