You've made the resolution to lose weight, now what? In the beginning of every year thousands of people make the commitment to lose weight and with all the advertising about weight loss companies are ready for you. So the decision now is which weight loss program to choose.

Many people join gyms to help them reach their fitness and weight loss goals. Many gyms ramp of for the New Year knowing there will be an influx of new members joining the gym and trying to get healthy and they know that many members that havent been the gym since last January will be back.

Others chose weight loss programs with prepackaged like Nutri-System and Jenny Craig or counting points with Weight Watchers which is a convenient way for consumers to not think about what to eat, be on a specific plan and not have to worry about having to plan what to eat.
Still others choose to go at it through shear willpower, dusting off the treadmill or getting the latest exercise equipment or DVD that they've seen on the late night infomercial guaranteeing You will get the body of your dreams or You will in the best shape of your life with workout like Insanity or P90X from Beachbody. People send millions of dollars each year trying to get healthy and fit all to do it again next year.

We've all seen former Jenny Craig spokesperson, Kirstie Alley lose the weight, gain it back and then lose it again all to gain it back again. And many have seen how crowded the gym is on the first Monday of January just to look like a deserted island on Friday. Not to mention the stacks of workout DVDs or treadmill that is now being used as a clothes hanger in the corner of the garage.

So what is the best option for you? Only you can answer that question. It is not all about will-power, although it is about commitment. Pre-packaged foods may give you the convenience to not think about what to eat, but you arent really learning what to actually eat to maintain the weight loss when the program is complete. And with 6 day a week DVD workouts many get discouraged because they are so advance and intense.

Although it has been said before, there is no quick fix, weight loss takes determination to make a lifestyle change and not just be on a diet. Many seek out trainers to help guide them through a healthier way to life and encourage them to workout with proper form on a regular basis.
