Lisa Rambo quickly became a viewer favorite on season 14 of The Biggest Loser for her drive and her cheerful personality. The 37-year-old Wisconsin special-education teacher was eliminated Monday night by the red team, but that didnt stop her momentum. She has lost more than 80 pounds as of Tuesday afternoon, when we spoke with her via phone about how the mother of four budding athletes she became one herself while on the Biggest Loser ranch.
Q. At the end of the show Monday night you said, I'm Lisa Rambo and I am an athlete. When did you start thinking that you yourself were one, too?
A. It was in the first weeks maybe, well, a couple weeks into being on the ranch. I knew that I had to start seeing myself the way I wanted to be and stepping up and stepping out.

Q. With the emphasis on childhood obesity this season and seeing the teen participants make changes, what takeaways did you bring back to your family that you learned from being on the ranch?
A. What I learned is eating right is a choice and you have to make time for it. We make sure that we're only keeping healthy snacks and food in our house right now.
What I learned, which is really cool, we literally threw everything that wasn't good away -- bags of food. And my kids didn't scream or complain. They like the walnuts and apricots and apples and cheese sticks. And we don't get complaints.
