Super Bowl Sunday is a holiday to some and you know what comes with that - lots of food! Which is good, but when you are trying to lose weight, it can easily get you off-track. Nutritional downfalls for this day include:

  • Cheesy dips
  • Fried foods
  • Creamy dips
  • Chips
  • Sugary desserts
  • Alcohol including beer and mixed drinks

Sounds like fun, huh? Until Monday morning when you get on the scale or can't button your pants because of your bloating belly. When you are trying to lose weight, every day counts, even days like Super Bowl Sunday. Don't worry, you don't have to revise your weight-loss goals or rearrange your schedule with your friends. It just takes a little planning, some good food, and a lot of will power. It is worth it though. Remember what your ultimate goal is - to lose weight and eat healthy foods. So, what healthy foods can you eat?

Instead of:

  • Cheesy dips - Have salsa, guacamole and hummus. Pair with cut veggies - celery, red peppers, carrots, broccoli.
  • Fried foods - Bake or grill your chicken. Make your own fries by cutting up potatoes and sweet potatoes into wedges.
