If you love pasta, you don't have to give it up if you are trying to lose weight. In fact, a serving of pasta, especially whole wheat pasta, goes a long way in helping to fill you up! The trick is to make your single serving of pasta look like a whole lot more.

Start by measuring out 2 ounces of dry pasta. Pick a big pasta, like ziti or shells. An ounce of puffy pasta looks like more than an ounce of spaghetti. Then boil just that serving until it's cooked the way you like.

While your pasta is boiling, create a stir fry using any of your favorite vegetables. Good vegetable choices are broccoli, tomatoes, sugar snaps, scallions, asparagus, or make life very easy and buy a bag of frozen stir fry mix.

Also add a bit of protein to your stir fry. One good option is a slice or two of turkey bacon. It's low calorie and it gives your stir fry a good flavor. When your pasta is cooked, drain it and add it to the stir fry. Heat and serve! You can also add a sprinkle of grated cheese on top.
