- 30-49
- Over 50
The stories are heartbreaking as each contestant gives a glimpse of how they got here and what is important to them to achieve over the next few months. As the obesity epidemic in America expands, this show strives to help those who are morbidly obese and show people that weight loss is possible if you are overweight. Well, that, and the advertising and games and strategy that make it part of the "reality TV" line-up. Nevertheless, the stories of the contestants and their personalities are what attract the viewers, no matter how hard the network tries to come up with new storylines and games.
The workouts are brutal, designed to show contestants how out of shape they truly are, as well as scare the folks at home into submission. The only problem is that the folks at home might think that this is what is required to lose weight and say "no thanks", it's easier to stick to the soda and chips on the couch.
