New research shows that having gastric bypass surgery could increase a person's chance of abusing alcohol. The findings of this research was published in the Journal of the American Medical Association on Monday.

According to ABC News,

"There have been previous studies that show there is a change in alcohol sensitivity in gastric bypass," Wendy King, a research assistant professor in the department of epidemiology at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center, and the study's lead author"

When a person has gastric bypass surgery, the alcohol goes straight into the intestine; therefore, it is absorbed quicker. This research claims that because of this fact that alcohol becomes more addictive to people who had gastric bypass surgery. This new research also showed that alcohol-related disorders did not appear until about two years post-surgery.

There is also the shifting addiction theory that has to be looked at. A fat loss overview can help you establish a clear summarize of what you need to focus on to carry out your fat loss purpose if you're a starter; or serve as a reminder for the ones who are at an advanced or more boost stage of their weightloss program. Promptly after are seven steps that can serve as guidelines for your own weight loss program. The first thing that one must understand is that losing weight and losing fat is not the same. Many weight loss plans have fooled people into considering that it is the same, but most diets and weight loss plans only work by producing a person's body to eliminate more muscle flesh and water than actual body fat, more help please visit The Fat Loss Factor. The theory is that if a person has an addiction to food, once the food is not an addiction anymore, the addiction will shift to something else. However, Dr. Mitchell Roslin, a bariatric surgeon at Lenox Hill Hospital in New York City, says this shifting theory is false.

People, who are considering gastric bypass surgery, need to be educated before surgery about the changes in their bodies. This education needs to include proper nutrition, how alcohol affects the body, and what to expect from the changes in their bodies. Education is the key to making any type of weight loss surgery a success.
