"Biggest Loser" trainer Bob Harper has invested his muscular presence and weight loss expertise in the Partnership for a Healthier America and First Lady Michelle Obama's "Let's Move" campaign, reported 10sBalls recently. A keynote speaker on a panel that included U.S. Olympian Dara Torres, Bob helped the United States Tennis Association (USTA) kick-start National Childhood Obesity Awareness Month at the United States Open.
Now preparing for the next season of the "Biggest Loser," set to premiere in January (click here for details), Bob is the New York Times best-selling author of "The Skinny Rules: The Simple, Nonnegotiable Principles for Getting to Thin." He expressed his concern about the obesity epidemic among children and teens. "Teens are spending up to seven hours a day in front of some sort of computer device," warned Bob. "What I really try to get the parents to do is become more active. Its just not telling your children what you want them to do; youve got to become a part of that solution and actually do what you want them to do." He also cautioned about the growing rate of diabetes in children.
