The FDA states, A cosmetic manufacturer may essentially use any raw material in a product and market it without prior FDA approval.
According to the FDA, only eight ingredients are banned from cosmetics in the United States. The European Union has banned more than 1,000.
Over the years there has been a steady rise in womens health conditions such as breast cancer, fibroids, endometriosis, miscarriage, and infertility. There also has been a rise in conditions such as fibromyalgia, chronic fatigue syndrome and hypothyroidism, which mostly affect women. Studies show that human exposure to chemicals in our environment such as pesticides, herbicides, insecticides, and manufacturing byproducts, can cause these endocrine disrupting conditions.

RECIPES
Face/Body Wash
- 1 cup powdered goats milk (you can find this at Natural Grocer's or Mountain Mama's)
- 1 cup quick-cooking oats
Process both in a blender until very fine. Store in an airtight container in a cool place for up to four weeks. To cleanse face, sprinkle a small amount of powder into the palm of your hand and mix into a paste with warm water. Massage onto face/body and rinse.
Honey Tonic
Apply 1-2 drops raw honey to wet fingertips and massage onto wet face. Do not rinse. Pat Dry
Moisturizer
Place 2-3 drops of extra-virgin, organic olive oil onto your palm, Rub palms together and pat your face gently. Allow to soak into skin. Also may be used as an all-over moisturizer.
Dandruff
Try using Apple cider vinegar as a topical treatment to kill the cause of dandruff.
Dry Hair
For deep conditioning, use a more generous amount of olive oil and wrap hair in a warm towel. - cup coconut oil
- 2 drops rosemary essential oil (Mountain Mama has some great scents!) or 2 drops lavender essential oil
Combine and store in refrigerator. Use 2-4 tablespoons per treatment. Work into damp hair and cover with a warm towel, fresh from the dryer. Let set for ten minutes before shampooing.
