The Fourth of July is Monday (hello, three-day weekend!) and Jillian Michaels is serving up some healthy eating tips. The former Biggest Loser trainer, who now will be plying her trade on The Doctors and The Dr. Phil Show, came up with these guidelines to keep your summer slimmer:

  1. Chose a leaner meat: Though beef burgers and hot dogs are traditional, choose a leaner cut of meat such as a tuna steak, chicken or white-meat turkey, lean grass-fed ground beef or flank steak. A fat burning overview can help you establish a clear summarize of what you need to focus on to accomplish your fat reducing goal if you're a starter; or serve as a reminder for those who are at an intermediate or more enhance phase of their losing weight plan. Following are seven steps that can serve as methods for your personal weight loss program. The first thing that one must understand is that losing weight and losing fat is not exactly the same thing.   2. Skip the bread: Pick a whole wheat bun or even better, go bun-less and wrap a piece of lettuce around your protein.
  3. Its all about the veggies: Incorporate veggies into your meal whether it's summer salad, extra toppings on your burger or a side of grilled vegetable skewers. Just be sure not to douse your food in dressings or condiments.
  4. Snacking is OK, just pick the right ones: Choose healthier options like Popchips over fried potato chips
  5. Watch your alcohol consumption: Try to cut out some of the alcohol and drink unsweetened ice tea and water. If you must drink, go with a light white wine, or a vodka-soda. Leave out all the sugar-laden high-calorie mixers like juice or sugary sodas.
