Agricultural Department. For your familys health, check your ice cream's ingredient list to ensure your favorite brand does not include this chemical.

Carmine: Does the thought of competing on Survivor and eating bugs turn your stomach? If you enjoy M&Ms, cranberry juice, or other red dyed products, then you are already eating bug parts. Silicon dioxide: This anti cling agent is produced from sand and is found in shredded cheese, fast food chili, and many other products.

Shellac: Yes this wood finishing product is used to give many hard candies their shiny sheen.
