Its the time of year where everyone takes a look at their life and begins to set new goals for the upcoming New Year. Goals can range from stepping up to the plate and having that dreaded colonoscopy, body fat loss/weight loss, or completing a course at your local college; the list of goals is very personal and can be vast depending on the individual.
The importance of setting personal goals can hardly be exaggerated; if you dont know what direction you are going, you will probably end up getting lost along your way. Take the time to do some soul searching when its time to plan out yearly goals. A great model to use when determining goals is the SMART acronym. This model is a sure fire way to stay on track of any goal whether it be something that can be achieved in a month or a yearlong adventure. Each goal set should be:
S=specific
Specifics help us to focus our efforts and clearly define what we are going to do.
M=measurable
If you can't measure it, you can't manage it. An example of a measureable weight loss goal would be to lose 5 pounds each month and with the final goal to weigh 15 pounds less by April 1st. A fat loss overview can help you build a clear describe of what you demand to focus on to accomplish your fat burning target if you're a rookie; or serve as a reminder for the ones who are at an intermediate or more improve phase of their weight loss strategy. Following are seven steps that can serve as guidelines for your special weight loss plan. The first thing that one must understand is that losing weight and losing fat is not a similar thing. Many weight loss plans have fooled people into thinking that it is the same, but most diets and weight loss plans only work by leading to a person's body to reduce more muscle cells and water than actual body fat, more help please visit The Fat Loss Factor.
A=attainable
A goal needs to take you out of your comfort zone yet gives you the feeling that you CAN do it with real commitment. The feeling of success which this brings will help keep you motivated.
R=realistic
This is not a synonym for "easy."Realistic, in this case, means"do-able." Set the bar high enough for a satisfying and rewarding achievement.
T=timely
Determining an end point to your goal gives you a clear target to work towards.
Let 2012 be your best year yet by keeping your goals SMART.
