Just a few spots remain in San Leandro Bay Breeze races

Flat and fast are words rarely heard said about a Brazen Racing event, but compared to some of the tougher courses, race directors promise that this one really will be a "breeze."

Runners looking for hills will have to be content with looking at the mountains across the bay on this out and back course that seldom strays more than a few feet from the water.

Better hurry, though, because fast is also a theme for how quickly the race entries are selling. The 5K is already sold out, and only a few spots remain in the 10K, while the half marathon is still open.

This weather-friendly race offers a mix of paved and gravel trails with little potential for mud, in the event of rain. All distances will start at the San Leandro Marina Park and continue into the Hayward Regional Shoreline Park, hugging the shoreline.

The male and female half marathon winners will each receive an entry into the Oakland Running Festival, plus two additional entries will be raffled off during the post-race festivities to one runner and one volunteer. Age group awards will be awarded to the top three finishers in each category, and all runners will receive custom finisher medals and custom shirts.
