"And as my 60th birthday was approaching, I didn't want to be overweight. I wanted to be healthy and keep with my family. I want to be healthy and enjoy life." The result: Sharon chose the Atkins low-carb diet and now, 28 pounds lighter, calls it "a life changing experience."

One of the main myths about the Atkins diet: It's too rigid and strict for convenience. Wrong! In fact, Sharon's husband Ozzy, son Jack and her assistant have joined her on the diet "because it is so convenient. It's so yummy. It's all about proteins and vegetables," explained Sharon.   • Breakfast: Sharon chooses high protein foods like scrambled eggs and bacon. Tip: You could also enjoy sliced tomatoes with your protein.
  • Lunch: As Sharon points out in her blog for Atkins, the holidays are a great time for low-carb dieters! "You can eat as much turkey, sausage and veggies as you want!" she wrote in her blog. Craving comfort foods? Enjoy meat loaf (just skip the bread crumbs when you prepare it).   • Snacks: For those of us who can't resist sweets, Sharon recommends Atkins snack bars. "I especially like Atkins coconut chocolate bars, peanut butter cups and the caramel double chocolate crunch bars. I'll eat half a bar for dessert after lunch, and save the other half for after dinner," she said. Now that's a smart snacker!
  • Dinner: "For dinner I usually like white fish and string beans, some roast chicken and cauliflower, or (if you promise not to tell anyone) sausages!" Sharon blogged recently.
