Biggest Loser season 12, week 3 recap: Are you ready for some football? (Photos)

Biggest Loser season 12, week 3 had football stars, come-from-behind victories and a tearful elimination.

Another sad meeting for the blue team and trainer Anna. Her upside? They now have a tight unit thats for sure.

First challenge: All the teams hit the football field. Each of them had a big cardboard cutout of themselves with football jerseys stuffed in their middle (I know! Weird!) Antone got to wear his old Philadelphia Eagles jersey. Alison then introduced the NFL stars Clay Matthews, Tony Gonzalez and Drew Brees. They all had to toss footballs into other peoples cardboard cutout stomachs. Last person standing wins $5,000. Alison also told them that the winner of the weigh-in wins a fancy-schmancy trip to the Super Bowl. The pros had to throw from farther away while the contestants got to toss the footballs in much closer. Courtney won the 5 grand.

Bob sat down with Antone his pet project -- after the football challenge. The former NFL player felt embarrassed because he couldnt compete with the pros.

Poor Jennifer her knee has been acting up and she had an MRI. Turns out she has a stress fracture. Dr. Huizenga told her that there were ways to workout on one leg and she was game to do it.

Second challenge: At the gym, the contestants arrived to see everything set up like a locker room. Its a football-themed challenge and its broken up into four 15-minute quarters. The winning team has to burn the most calories, and the winners get a spa day.

Quote of the week, from Bob: All I can think about is we are gonna go balls out. (Well, all-righty, then.)

Black team dominated the challenge but turned down the spa-day prize -- holy shiatsu!

OK, that ice-bath scene was funny, but what was Patrick wearing? It looked like a black diaper.

Last-chance workout: More NFL stars! Shawne Merriman worked out with the black team, hoisting heavy bags, pushing sleds and slamming truck tires. Macho! Blue team worked out with Hall of Famer Eric Dickerson. Their workout wasnt as intense as the black teams but there was still lots of rope waggling, medicine ball slamming and kettlebell swinging. The youngsters of the red team got to work out with NFL youngster Tim Tebow. The Timmy-Dolvett training combo was super intense (and super cute).

Wow, the oldsters (or Old-stars) really stepped up their game this week. They blew the red team out of the water and into the elimination room. Elimination: Jessica is safe because she lost the most in her group, but someone else has to go. Before the formal vote, the team had an emotional discussion. Patrick basically served himself up for elimination because he felt that he could do the best at home. And thats what they did, sending Patrick home.

The update: Patrick is down from 387 to 296. The coolest thing is his improvement taking the police agility test. His goal is to become a police officer and before the show, he was gassed part way through the test. Now he can do the test easily.
