Triathlons are becoming very popular; however the thought of competing in a full Ironman can be intimidating to the novice athlete. Ironman triathlons consist of a 2.4 mile swim, 112 mile bike race, and end with a full marathon, or 26.2 miles. This mini triathlon will begin promptly at 7:15 am at the city pool which is located within the city park (www.ironheadrp.com/directions/cleburnedirections.htm). After completing the 300 yard swim, the participants will immediately begin the bike race. This bike route is touted as one of the fastest and will take competitors out of the city limits. Racers will be challenged by the roaming hills while enjoying the beautiful scenic countryside Cleburne provides. The 15.2 mile jaunt will end back at the city park.

Immediately following the bike race, competitors will begin the final leg of the triathlon which is running a 5K. The 3.2 mile mildly hilly route will take competitors through some of the finer neighborhoods of Cleburne, including some of the older historic homes. Runners will find themselves back at the city park and a finish line filled with spectators and other competitors who are there to show support for everyone's athletic endeavors.
