But the new fall 2012 collection takes it a step further, delivering the usual tried-and-true benefits with a dash of sassy attitude to give the brand some edge.
Case in point: The fun, funky Urban Gym collection represents a completely new approach to design, combining athletic pretty with street style to address the high-performance needs of todays growing cross-training and studio culture.
As a company of active women, we see a growing trend toward [this] cross-training and studio culture, says Heather Cvitkovic, senior product line manager for Moving Comfort. Like us, our customer is enjoying fun and diversity in her workoutsrunning for energy, yoga for balance and CrossFit for power.
The centerpiece of the collection is a series of dolman-inspired, shadow stripe tops, which feature S.Cafe, a fabric made from recycled coffee grounds that moves moisture and controls odor. Moving Comfort has used this innovative fiber in sports bras before, but this is the first time the brand has utilized it in apparel. Coordinating with the tops are space-dye capris and tights, cozy sweatshirts, plus a playful gym skirt to be pulled over tights post-workout.
