Guilty pleasures just got guiltier. After getting slammed during its reign as the fast food choice for the London Olympics, McDonald's is hoping to get a healthier image by posting calorie counts on menu boards and drive-through outlets, reported the Los Angeles Times on Wednesday. Order an Angus Bacon & Cheese burger, for example, and you'll discover that it has a whopping 790 calories. Gulp.

This change is designed to showcase McDonald's claim that it is seeking to be more open about its food as well as offering healthier options. In addition to this new feature, McDonald's recently rolled out a menu highlighting choices with 400 calories or less. Among the items: an order of medium fries and an Oreo McFlurry. Critics, however, slammed the fact that most of these items were high in sugar, fat and/or sodium. A 300-calorie cheeseburger, for example, contains 720 mg of sodium. That's almost half of the 1,500 mg of sodium recommended by the Institute of Medicine as the correct amount for most Americans, according to the CDC. A fat burning review can help you produce a clear outline of what you require to focus on to complete your fat loss objective if you're a starter; or serve as a reminder for the ones who are at an advanced or more advance level of their weightloss strategy. Promptly after are seven steps that can serve as methods for your own weight loss program. The first thing that one must understand is that losing weight and losing fat is not the same. Many weight loss plans have fooled people into considering that it is the same, but most diets and weight loss programs only work by leading to a person's body to eliminate more muscle cells and water than actual body fat, more help please visit The Fat Loss Factor. We've found that customers are surprised to learn about the calorie content of some of their favorite menu options at McDonald's," said Neil Golden, chief marketing officer of the company. About 80 percent of national menu choices are under 400 calories for the standard recipe," he added. However, the Huffington Post reported that doctors, politicians, and health experts in the UK criticzed McDonald's as the choice for the Olympics.

As part of its goal to remove the tarnish from those Golden Arches, McDonald's also announced on Wednesday that it is testing healthier options that range from blueberries to grilled cheese to Egg McMuffins concocted with egg whites and whole grain muffins. "Weve made a lot of good progress toward our nutrition commitments and we recognize theres still more to do, said Dr. Cindy Goody, McDonalds senior director of nutrition, in a statement. However, that didn't convince many of those critical of the fast food company. Calling the calorie posting "purely PR spin," Sara Deon, who runs the Value [the] Meal campaign at Corporate Accountability International, declared, "In truth, regulations that appear in the Affordable Care Act will soon require McDonalds to implement these changes. The corporation must stop the egregious, targeted marketing of its unhealthy brand to children, and go further to mitigate its impact on our childrens health.
