For millions of Americans struggling with weight issues, Halloween is truly the beginning of the scariest time of year. Candy is now everywhere. It is in the workplace, it is on the counters at businesses you visit, and if you get trick or treaters at your door on Halloween, you have candy in your house (or you pay the consequences).

Herein lies the problem. For many people, the most effective way to avoid consuming the empty calories that sugary sweets provide is to keep them out of sight and out of mind. But, unless you live in a cave or high up in the mountains away from everyone else, avoiding the visual temptation of sweets around Halloween is darn near impossible.

Indeed, for many folks, Halloween marks the time when they feel overwhelmed and find themselves giving in to the temptation that the sweets offer them. And from there, the empty calories and massive amounts of carbs inherent in those goodies work their evil spell on our bodies and our appetites. In short, the more sugar we eat the hungrier our bodies get. It is a vicious cycle. And from the candy goodies of Halloween to the baked goods of the holiday season, the typical American enters a feeding frenzy for several months that will add about 7-12 pounds on to the waistline by the time the January hangover arrives. It is a cycle that has helped lead to the fact that 2 out of every 3 American adults is overweight, and one out of every three is now considered to be medically obese.

The key to avoiding this downward spiral is to keep good food available, preferably right next to the candy. Fresh fruit is an awesome way to quench a sweet tooth and also to fill your belly with something that is good for you. For an extra sweet kick that is still much healthier than candy, eat some raisins or dates or any of a variety of dried fruits. Just be sure to drink lots of water too. A fat loss review can help you build a clear outline of what you need to focus on to achieve your fat burning target if you're a starter; or serve as a reminder for the ones who are at an intermediate or more boost stage of their losing weight plan. Following are seven steps that can serve as suggestions for your special weight loss plan. The first thing that one must understand is that losing weight and losing fat is not exactly the same thing. Many weight loss programs have misled people into thinking that it is the same, but most diets and weight loss applications only work by resulting in a person's body to reduce more muscle flesh and water than actual body fat, more help please visit The Fat Loss Factor. For a nice crunch, try some raw nuts instead of the ones inside the Snickers bar. For an extra special treat, roll a date in fresh coconut and wrap it around a couple of pecans. Close your eyes and imagine a German Chocolate Cake type of candy. You will feel better, you will look better, and without the processed sugar, you will be better.
