In last night's Episode 10 of The Biggest Loser, the contestants are back on the ranch after their two weeks at home and losing Arthur last week. Each team votes for a team captain for the week. Strong personalities Justin and Marci take up that challenge. Only one person from each team was allowed to be in the kitchen, so Olivia and Ken get that honor for their teams. They soon find out that cooking for a family of 6 is hard work and have a new-found respect for mom's that take care of their kids.
The physical challenge is going across a mud pit on balance circles, in which the all-female Black team finally beat the dominating Red team. They win $6,000.00 for doing that. Hard workouts and mean trainers as they learn what not to do when they go home and how to avoid relapsing. Some words of wisdom:
- Sarah, who is afraid of pushing herself too hard in the gym because of a car accident injury, "I want to go through pain because it's the only way to get through it." as Bob encourages her to fight with herself inside to make a difference on the outside.
- Trainer Brett, who sets up a workout with backpacks holding the weight each contestant has lost, representing how much emotional and physical baggage they were carrying so that they never forget their past.
- Ken, who after a mediocre last weigh-in, realizes he needs to be "more transparent with his family at home" after his visit. He let the stress from his relationships affect his progress for the week.
- Trainer Jillian to Hannah as she pushes her on the treadmill, "You're only going to achieve what your mind believes you can achieve."
- Trainer Brett to Kaylee about changing her heart, "If you don't change that, you won't change." Kaylee agrees that she went back to her old habits at home and says "It's not just the weight, it's the emotion."
- Trainer Brett to Kaylee's Dad Moses explaining that you can't always take care of other people, "She [Kaylee] can't get self-confidence from you. You have to take care of yourself." Moses sees that he lost focus when he was at home and realizes that he has to take care of him first, and then he can take care of his family.
- Team captain Justin exclaims how excited he is for the future, "I'm not getting older. I'm getting better."
The Black team loses the weigh-in and sends Sarah home. "The old Sarah would be defeated", she says, "The new Sarah will win at home." She continues to lose at home, a total of 92 lbs. so far. She realizes her weight played a part in her losing pregancies and is now ready to start again. She's taking care of herself. Are you?
