This article is a second part summary of the free 40 minute trailer to the video Food Matters: Let Thy Food Be Thy Medicine. Available at http://www.foodmatters.tv/is the extended freebie trailer and/or you can order the video as well as other items. This article will review the remaining information provided including vitamin supplements, pharmaceuticals and more.

Many of the professionals that contributed to this video discuss the importance of vitamin supplements. One of the contributors to the video asserts that vitamins in large enough doses cannot only prevent illnesses but treat some as well. There is much turmoil over the subject of vitamins and fear of it in large doses. However this video found that only 10 deaths could be contributed to vitamins in a period of 20 years according to a source cited in the trailer. There is power in vitamins, for example vitamin E aids in treatment of heart disease, burns, and teenage seizures. Vitamin C acts as an anti-toxin, anti-histamine, anti-viral, regulates blood sugar, and elevates mood. The attitude conveyed in the video is that there is a strong need of vitamin therapy in modern medicine. Surprisingly less than 6% of graduating physicians received formal nutritional training. From a nutritional perspective vitamins heal the body.

There is conflict in the research on the effectiveness of vitamins though. The contributors to this video assert the reason the research is so ambiguous is many of the published studies used low doses of vitamins. They further assert that if higher levels were used, solid results would be revealed of the power of vitamins. Another issue cited in this free trailer is the resistance of the medical community to treat the cause and not just the disease; they further state this is as a root cause of many American illnesses.

This trailer discusses some of the causes of cardiovascular disease such as fast food, sugar, processed food, high consumption of meat, and starch. Many in the medical community believe the effects of cardiovascular disease cannot be reversed but Dr. Ornish reveals differently. A contributor in the video discusses the results of Dr. Ornish who places his patients on a raw food diet and stress reduction regiment. These patients either arrest or reverse their cardiovascular disease. Further information on this deadly disease is quite scary; often the first symptom of this disease is death no warning! An important message is to be preventative; be mindful of what is going in your body. Remember it is safer and cheaper to change your diet than having to go through bypass surgery down the road, states one of the contributors to the video. A problematic approach to many health concerns is strictly a drug for an illness, but much more should be considered.

The trailer has many contributors that discuss the possible lethal aspect of drug therapy adverse drug reactions. A fat burning overview can help you build a clear outline of what you demand to focus on to achieve your fat reduction target if you're a rookie; or serve as a reminder for those who are at an intermediate or more enhance stage of their weight loss strategy. Applying are seven steps that can serve as suggestions for your own weight loss system. The first thing that one must understand is that losing weight and losing fat is not a similar thing. Many weight loss plans have fooled people into thinking that it is the same, but most diets and weight loss applications only work by resulting in a person's body to eliminate more muscle cells and water than actual body fat, more help please visit The Fat Loss Factor. In the United Kingdom alone an average of 10,000 people died of an adverse drug reaction compared to 3,000 who died of an auto accident. The Journal of American Medical Association reported that in the US an average of 106,000 die of adverse drug reactions (not due to physician error). This trailer and the contributors do not overlook the importance or need for drug therapy and acknowledge its importance, but caution the overuse. The pharmaceutical industry worldwide generates about a half a trillion dollars annually; that may be an indicator of over-use of pharmaceutical drugs. Caution needs to be taken as well as education; it is discussed that to license a drug for marketing that the company only needs to produce two trials in which their drug was more effective than the placebo. It is difficult to know how many trials were conducted before this requirement was met; additionally often only a few hundred to a couple thousand people are tested (the latter is unusual). The bottom line of the pharmaceutical aspect of this video is, good health makes a lot of sense, but it does not make good money. As long as the drug company doesnt cure but doesnt kill they are in a perfect equilibrium for making money hand over fist. Whereas if this country had an epidemic of health due to fresh, organic diets with minimal processing there would be a huge financial impact on not only drug companies but the stock market as well.

The video leaves the views with this quote Optimum nutrition is the medicine of tomorrow said by Dr. Linus Pauling who had 48 Ph.D.s and two unshared Nobel prizes.
