The hugely popular free weight-loss site SparkPeople.com has released its third book, The Spark Solution (HarperOne, $26.99), which offers a two-week program that promises to keep readers motivated through the crucial first 14 days of a diet.

The book, released Tuesday, and written by SparkPeople head dietitian Becky Hand and SparkPeople editorial director Stepfanie Romine, lays out a three-point plan for weight-loss success every day:

  • Metabolic makeover: A 1,500-calorie eating plan that offers three substantial meals and two snacks a day with an emphasis on protein and fiber. A solid night of sleep and an exercise plan that includes cardio, strength training and stretching also figure into the plan.
  • Mindset makeover: Every day in the two-week plan, there are tips on stress, negative thoughts, goal setting, and reframing situations.
  • Motivation and momentum: How to keep the success going by building on the momentum of successful previous days, keeping your expectations realistic, learning to give yourself a break from perfectionism, and not feeding negative thoughts.

Chef Meg Galvin, who wrote The SparkPeople Cookbook with Romine created the recipes for The Spark Solution. Among the dozens of recipes Huevos Rancheros, Breakfast Cookies, Lean Philly Cheesesteaks, and Inside-Out Burgers With Baked Garlic-Herb Fries. Many of the recipes are featured in a color photo section in the book and all recipes include nutritional information.

As for the fitness component of The Spark Solution, coach Nicole Nichols designed the workouts and demonstrates the moves in photos. A fat loss overview can help you build a clear summarize of what you demand to focus on to accomplish your fat reducing objective if you're a novice; or serve as a reminder for those who are at an intermediate or more boost stage of their weightloss strategy.
