The pour-on-the-butter Southern cooking queen Paula Deen, who recently admitted that she has diabetes, now says that she's going to put her recipes on a diet. Sort of.
"I am who I am. But what I will be doing is offering up lighter versions of my recipes," she revealed to the Associated Press at the South Beach Wine and Food Festival Friday in a discussion about her cooking and diabetes. Although she said she'll have a "broader platform," Paula also stated, "I'm Southern by roots. I was taught (to cook) by my grandmother and nothing I can do would change that."

But I am taking a portion of that compensation and giving it back to the (American) Diabetes Association."
