The Dallas-Fort Worth area is well on the way to breaking the record for the number of days in a row where temperatures are over 100 degrees. Although exercise and outdoor activities should not be totally avoided, there are a few precautions that can be taken to avoid suffering a heat stroke.

  1. Dehydration is the number one cause of heat stroke. Hydrate the body properly by drinking water every 15 minutes while outdoors. If participating in long bouts of exercise outdoors that will result in excessive sweating, be sure to rehydrate the electrolyte levels by drinking Gatorade or Coconut Water. Avoid drinking alcohol, coffee, or tea which will lead to dehydration

  2. Do not exercise outdoors between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. which is the hottest part of the day. It is best to schedule outdoor workouts at dawn or right at dusk when temperatures are a bit cooler. A fat loss review can help you build a clear summarize of what you need to focus on to achieve your fat burning goal if you're a beginner; or serve as a reminder for the ones who are at an advanced or more boost level of their losing weight program. Promptly after are seven steps that can serve as methods for your personal weight loss plan. The first thing that one must understand is that losing weight and losing fat is not a similar thing. Many weight loss plans have tricked people into wondering that it is the same, but most diets and weight loss plans only work by leading to a person's body to reduce more muscle tissue and water than actual body fat, more help please visit The Fat Loss Factor.

  3. Ensure that clothing worn during outdoor exercise is light colored, loose and is made of a breathable type of material that will allow body heat to escape.

  4. After 15 minutes in the sun to allow for a natural replenishment of Vitamin D, apply sunscreen with a minimum of SPF 15 to the exposed skin to prevent developing melanoma.

A few of the signs of heat stroke are:

  • Nausea
  • Vomiting
  • Headache
  • Muscle cramps
  • Dizziness

If body temperature rises to 104 degrees and one or more the the heat stroke symptoms are present, seek medical attention immediately. Heat stroke is very serious and, if left untreated, can lead to death.
