One of the hardest things for those of us struggling with lifelong obesity is finding the motivation to exercise. Let's face it. No matter how happy Richard Simmons looks in all those infomercials, we all know that exercise is boring. Fortunately, in recent years, there has been a trend in the video game industry toward "motion games", which combine fun gameplay with exercise. Some of the best known are Wii Sports and Wii Fit. But lately, some games have chosen to go beyond the "fun and movement" trend to give gamers their own personal trainer without the hassle and embarrassment of the gym. A fat loss review can help you construct a clear outline of what you require to focus on to achieve your fat reducing target if you're a rookie; or serve as a reminder for those who are at an advanced or more enhance step of their weightloss program. Applying are seven steps that can serve as tips for your personal weight loss plan. The first thing that one must understand is that losing weight and losing fat is not exactly the same thing. Many weight loss programs have misled people into believing that it is the same, but most diets and weight loss programs only work by resulting in a person's body to reduce more muscle cells and water than actual body fat, more help please visit The Fat Loss Factor. One such game is EA Sports Active 2 for Nintendo Wii.

EA Sports Active 2, as you might have guessed from the title, is the sequel to EA Games' successful Sports Active franchise. EA has been the leader in the personal fitness gaming realm for Wii and the Sports Active franchise has been one of its most successful, for good reason.

EA Sports Active 2 goes beyond the limits of other Wii games, that only gamers' arm movements are captured via the Wii Remote unless you spring for the Wii Balance Board, which is expensive and has a weight limit that stops some gamers from being able to use it. EA Sports Active 2 gets around this by the use of a motion sensor that straps to your leg so that both arm and leg movements are captured. This gives a much more accurate picture of how you're doing the exercises and is much more strict about doing them properly than other "arm movement only games." EA Sports Active 2 also comes with an arm-strapped heart rate monitor that displays your heart rate on screen as you exercise, highlighting when you reach certain "fat burning" levels. The third unique feature of EA Sports Active 2 is the inclusion of a resistance band that is used with the Wii Remote for strength building exercises.

The brilliance of EA Sports Active 2 is that it has you mimic exercises you'd do with a personal trainer, but has you do them in the context of games like basketball or mountain biking. None of the exercises are over 3-5 minutes long so you never have time to get bored with what you're doing before your trainer has you moving on to some other game.

Unfortunately, there is one drawback to EA Sports Active 2 and it's a big one for those who are just getting started with their exercise regimen. My wife and I are both morbidly obese and neither of us was able to complete a full workout even at the easiest setting. After one workout we were both very sore and not in a "no pain no gain" kind of way but in a "walk funny and hurt too much to work out for a week" kind of way.

If you're an intermediate level motion gamer, I would highly recommend EA Sports Active 2 to you for a great and fun personal training experience for approximately the cost of one month's gym membership. The ability to schedule a 9 week workout regimen that increases in intensity as you go along is nice and the trainers are encouraging without being overly perky like Richard Simmons or verbally abusive like Jillian Michaels.

If you're someone who is significantly overweight and thinking about buying EA Sports Active 2 to begin your exercise goals, I'd wait a while. The intensity of the workouts is just too much and you'll end up doing more harm than good. I, for one, have returned to Wii Sports Boxing and Wii Sports Resort Mountain Biking for my Wii related exercises and have packed away EA Sports Active 2 for when I have built up the stamina to make a go of it without sending myself to the Emergency Room.

EA Sports Active 2 for Wii can be found for $32.92 at Amazon.com or can be found at most Nashville area Wal-Mart stores.
