Does your couch get more comfortable but the waistline on your pants is a different story? Do you start to change your diet and exercise habits only to lose your drive somewhere between three hours and three days into it? Would you love to find your motivation, but youre just not motivated enough to look for it?

As youve found on your own, motivation isnt something that you get once and always have. Its needs constant attention. Its like building a fire. You cant light it, add some logs, walk away and expect to come back a week later and find it still going. You have to keep tending to it, adding wood and stoking the embers so the flames stay burning strong.

Why is motivation so elusive? There are many theories out there and theres probably some truth to most of them. Its hard to change habits. A fat reducing overview can help you produce a clear describe of what you demand to focus on to achieve your fat reducing purpose if you're a rookie; or serve as a reminder for those who are at an intermediate or more boost level of their losing weight plan. Following are seven steps that can serve as suggestions for your own weight loss program. The first thing that one must understand is that losing weight and losing fat is not the same. Many weight loss applications have fooled people into wondering that it is the same, but most diets and weight loss applications only work by resulting in a person's body to burn more muscle tissue and water than actual body fat, more help please visit The Fat Loss Factor. So, instead of making yourself uncomfortable by doing something new, its easy to rationalize that you dont need to. You lie to yourself and say that it doesnt matter. But, obviously it does matter or you wouldnt keep trying to do it.

And, if you do make it into the change cycle more than a few weeks, motivation may start lagging because you become more comfortable with yourself. You like the changes youre seeing so your level of self-discomfort isnt as high. If pain, or feeling bad about yourself, is what prompted you to change to begin with, as the pain level decreases so does your level of motivation.

So, how do you keep your commitment burning hot when you feel like waiving a white flag and surrendering to your same old, comfortable life? Heres some ideas to get you started:

Create a visual way to track your progress. You want something that you see every day that not only reminds you of your goal, but also of how far youve come. You could have two glasses and put colored rocks in one representing the amount of pounds you want to lose. As the scale begins to go down, move the rocks from one glass to the other. Or, string together colored paper clips and move them from one strand to another. Visual cues give you a tangible way to see your progress.

Keep a motivational folder. If you read a story that inspires you, clip it or print it and put it in a folder. On days that seem exceptionally tough, pull the folder out and read the contents. Whether they are tips and tricks, like this one, or someone elses story of success, sometimes thats all it takes to get your mind back in the game and your body working toward your goals.

Change your perception. One of the reasons that motivation is so hard to keep is because we are fixated on what were losing by making changes. However, if you focus instead on what youre gaining, like more energy to play with your children, you begin to look forward to your new behaviors. Its like when you stay home from work because you feel rotten. If you lay in bed all day thinking about how horrible you feel, you feel worse, right? But, if you become distracted by someone who stops by or a good book, you dont feel as bad. Its because your focus is on good things. Same principle.

Of course, there are tons of ways to stay motivated and these are just a few. What do you do when you feel your motivation start to slip away? Feel free to share your secrets in the comment section below. Use your motivational powers to help motivate someone else.
