Celebrating their 26th birthdays today, celebrity twins Mary-Kate and Ashley seem to have built on their successes since the days when they were tiny, toddling twins on "Full House." Focused on the fashion world, the youthful business women were honored last week at the 2012 CDFA Fashion Awards, where they won Womenswear Designer of the Year. And yet, darkening that success is the rumor that Mary-Kate continues to battle anorexia.
In 2004, Mary-Kate became noticeably thinner, and rumors of anorexia began to surface. In December 2007, she checked into a rehab clinic to seek help for a "health-related issue," her publicist told CBS. However, People magazine senior editor Jess Cagle claimed that Mary-Kate's father insisted on the clinic to treat her anorexia. "Her father said, 'In order to get your car back, you are going to have to gain some weight.' The family had someone watching her at meals. They were very, very concerned about this," said Jess. Mary-Kate boasted to W magazine that she began "sneaking my own coffee" at age 10.
